Service Description: The map shows the percentage of population exposed to O3 levels in 3 years average 2019-2021.
Regions where populations are systematically exposed to high peaks of ground level ozone (orange to red on the map) are highly concentrated within some countries and European subregions. Generally, the southern parts of Europe show higher ozone SOMO35 concentrations than the northern parts. This is partly because hot and sunny conditions promote ozone formation in the atmosphere.
